Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sleep Still (“Sleep Still,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our iOS application. Sleep Still is designed to help you settle at bedtime with gentle counting, optional background sound, and on-device motion and sound detection.

By using Sleep Still, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Summary

• We do not require an account.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
• Microphone audio is used only to measure loudness on your device. We do not record, store, or upload your audio.
• Motion sensor data is processed on your device to detect movement during a session. We do not upload it.
• Your settings stay on your device.
• If you purchase Sleep Still+ (or other in-app purchases), payment is processed by Apple. We use purchase status only to unlock features you paid for.

2. Information We Process

2.1 Information processed only on your device

Sleep Still processes the following locally on your iPhone. This information is not sent to our servers (we do not operate an app backend for Sleep Still at this time):

2.2 Information related to purchases (Sleep Still+)

Sleep Still may offer optional paid features through Apple’s In-App Purchase system (“Sleep Still+”), which may include additional guiding voices, nature soundscapes (such as rain, ocean, forest, or fireplace), fade mode, adaptive sensitivity, and similar extras. Brown noise, pink noise, and white noise remain available without purchase.

If you make a purchase:

• Apple processes your payment and purchase using your Apple ID and Apple’s privacy practices.
• We receive limited purchase/entitlement information (for example, whether Sleep Still+ is unlocked) so the app can provide the features you bought.
• We do not receive your full payment card number.

2.3 Information we do not collect

We do not collect:

• Name, email, or phone number through the app (unless you choose to email us for support)
• Precise location
• Contacts, photos, or files
• HealthKit data
• Speech content or voice recordings
• Advertising identifiers for tracking
• Analytics profiles of your sleep sessions (no cloud sleep history)

3. How We Use Information

We use on-device processing and (where applicable) purchase status to:

• Run the counting session and detection features
• Remember your preferences
• Unlock paid features you purchased
• Improve reliability of the experience on your device

We do not use your microphone audio or motion data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share microphone audio or motion data with third parties because that data is not uploaded to us.

Limited sharing occurs only as needed for:

• Apple — app distribution, operating system services, and In-App Purchases
• Service providers you contact directly — for example, if you email support, that email provider processes your message

If we ever add optional analytics or cloud features, we will update this policy before those features collect data, and the App Store privacy labels will be updated to match.

5. Tracking

Sleep Still does not track you across other companies’ apps and websites for advertising. We do not use App Tracking Transparency for cross-app advertising because we do not engage in that tracking.

6. Data Retention

• Microphone amplitude and motion signals: processed ephemerally during an active session; not retained as recordings or history uploads.
• Settings and on-device preferences: retained on your device until you change them, reset settings, or delete the app.
• Purchase entitlements: retained according to Apple’s purchase systems and restored via Apple when you reinstall or change devices (using Restore Purchases / your Apple ID), as applicable.

Deleting the app removes local preferences stored by Sleep Still on that device. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel Apple subscriptions (if you later offer any); manage those in your Apple ID settings.

7. Children’s Privacy

Sleep Still is rated for a general audience and does not require accounts. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians who allow a child to use the app should be aware that microphone permission may be requested for sound detection during a session.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support channels, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Permissions

Microphone

Used only to measure how loud the environment is during a session so the app can gently restart the count when you make a sound. Nothing is recorded or saved.

You can deny microphone access in iOS Settings. Without microphone access, sound-based resets will not work; other features may still function depending on the version.

Motion-related sensors

Used on-device for movement detection during a session. iOS does not show a separate “motion permission” dialog for the basic accelerometer/gyroscope usage Sleep Still relies on.

9. Security

We design Sleep Still so sensitive session signals stay on your device. Your device’s passcode, Face ID / Touch ID, and iOS security features help protect apps installed on your phone.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Please keep iOS and the app updated.

10. International Users

Sleep Still is operated from the developer’s location and distributed worldwide via the App Store where available. On-device processing happens on your device wherever you use the app. Apple may process purchase-related data according to Apple’s terms and your region.

11. Your Choices

You can:

• Deny or revoke microphone permission in iOS Settings → Sleep Still
• Change or reset in-app settings at any time
• Delete the app to remove local preferences on that device
• Manage, view, or request refunds for In-App Purchases through Apple
• Contact us to ask privacy questions

Because we do not operate a Sleep Still user account system or cloud profile, there is typically no cloud copy of your session preferences for us to export.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

If the App Store listing or a future support page links to other websites, those sites have their own privacy policies. This policy applies to the Sleep Still app experience described here.

Apple’s App Store and In-App Purchase services are governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we may also provide notice in the App Store listing description or within the app when appropriate.

Continued use of Sleep Still after an update means you accept the revised policy.
